Je U Wood and Framing

“Perhaps art begins with the animal, at least with the animal that carves out a territory and constructs a house.” - Deleuze & Guattari

Framing is a means to protect, elevate, separate, distinguish, and enrich an object. A frame can enhance or become the focal point. My primary goal in the production of a frame is to create an armature that works not to distract from its contents, but to pronounce and highlight from its surroundings.

I work with the individual and their object to find what the ultimate goal for a given project is through discussion of wood/finish type and desired visual hierarchies while remaining cost effective.

What you will find on my site:

  • Frames: past projects that illustrate examples of wood type, aesthetic and functional design, methods of joinery, hanging options, and techniques of framing

  • Surfaces: customized surfaces for painting, drawing, and presentation (coming soon)

  • Store: a basic introduction into pricing (coming soon)
